I was once again addicted to a certain anime entitled Avatar: The Last Airbender. I started watching the episodes three or four weeks ago. At first, I wasn’t really interested and I just watched the first 2 episodes just to pass time or to wake me up whenever I feel sleepy. However, as I watched the next episodes, I was captivated by the story, the characters and the moral lessons.

The show is aired on Nickelodeon. There are, as of now, three books/seasons: Book 1: Water, Book 2: Earth, and Book 3: Fire. The last book hasn’t been released yet and Avatar fans are anticipating its released which is scheduled on September 21 this year.
I finished watching Book 2 last week and I’m very excited to watch the next season. I tried very hard to search for the next episodes but I can’t find a single clip that will show me a peek of what’s going to happen next.

What I like best about this anime is the plot. The story is not only for kids but also suitable for adults. To qoute FPNYC.com:
The plot is refreshing but not foreign and works from a construct of emotional strength and technical intelligence that is often lacking in kids’ shows these days, simply because the creators often underestimate the children the shows are made for. Avatar does the opposite, if that makes any sense. It treats children not as adults, but as children with the full capacity to feel deeply, to regret, to hate, to love, to worry, to manipulate, and even to fail, which in the past would not have been an option.
As for me, this is one of the best animes I’ve watched yet and I will strongly recommend that you watch this if you’re looking for something that’s beyond ordinary.

I know everybody believes that life is unfair and some people experience more tragedy than others. But I will not focus about how unfair is life here. The question is when people experience more tragedy than others, is it their choice or is it just their fate?
In my own opinion, it can be both. Maybe some people are born poor, some people are more broken than others, and some people are so unlucky to have lost so badly. But hey, it also has something to do with choice. You can either be bitter and let misery consume you because of what has happened in your life OR you can be optimistic and strive more to obtain happiness.
As what my friend has always said, “it depends on how you take it.” This is her example. She has a sister. They both grew up without parents. They were left alone and they live far away from each other. The’re both suffering the same thing: lack of touch, care, guidance and love of their parents. So, surviving must be up to them. They had always been so different. This friend of mine is always taking things in a positive way. There’s always a ray of sunlight whereever she goes because she carries it with her. And she makes good use of her intelligence. That’s why she always ends up happy. On the other hand, her sister holds some sort of grudge over how things are turning out. She’s always jealous of her sister because her sister handles every situation so easily but she can’t. She was consumed by fear, anguish and insecurity. And that’s the main reason why she is the one who is more miserable.
Furthermore, choice places more weight on what’s happening on our life because it can either bring forth success or cause a major tragedy. I know someone, who also held grudges in her heart. Instead of forgiving the person who caused her some pain, she planned to get even. She wanted revenge, and she thought she will be happier with it. So she chose the opposite direction of what could have been the right way to happiness, which is to forgive and move on.
She chose to play with fire and she got burned. After that, more tragedies are still coming to her. If only she chose to be better instead of worse, these burden that she’s suffering now might not happen to her. And it will also depend on her choice whether she wants to correct her life or continue to ruin it.
Think about it. Life may not be unfair after all. It just depends on how you face it.

It’s supposed to be a long weekend for me because Monday is a holiday. But I’m here in the office, attending the SEO and PHP Training so the long weekend’s not going to be long anymore. It’ll be just be the usual two-day weekend for me.
Anyway, I’ve been learning for the past two weeks that I’m attending the training so it’s OK. The training is fine, somehow it’s a little fun. I feel like I’m back in school– sitting there looking at the white board and listening to discussions, feeling a little sleepy from time to time (when I was studying, I used to sleep during class hours), and copying answers during exercises/exams. Ooopppsss, disregard the last phrase, it doesn’t happen all the time. Hehehehe
And now, I am supposed to do one of those exercises for today’s SEO lesson, but once again I’m lost. I don’t know where to start. Do I have a choice? No. So I guess, I’ll get over it as soon as I can and then I’ll sing. “I’m going home,” and my folks will sing, “Welcome home, you.”

The most important people in my life are my family. Next to God, they’ll always be the one I’ll run to. They’re the first people that would care for me, love me unconditionally, protect me and lead me in the right way.
When I am sad, they’re always ready to comfort me. When I’m needy, they are there to provide me with the best they can. When I’m weary, they are there to take my pain and weariness away. If ever fate will try to separate me from them, I know I’ll always find my way back home, to the place where I belong.
I want to share to you the lyrics of the following song. I love it.
Home by Chris Daughtry
I’m staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I’m going to the place where love
And feeling good don’t ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel’s a different kind of pain.
I’m going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I’m not running from,
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don’t regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I’m going home.
Well I’m going home.
The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I’ve not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love remain true and I don’t know why.
You always seem to give me another try.
So I’m going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I’m not running from,
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don’t regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I’m going home.
I’m going home.
Be careful what you wish for,
‘Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don’t want.
Be careful what you wish for,
‘Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.

These past few weeks, I’ve been sleeping so late. Usually around 3 to 4 AM. That’s because my sister has been very busy. Yes, that’s right. It’s not me, it’s her.
She’s been burdened with so many reports, researches, papers and exams all in one week and I’ve been trying my best to help her. I cook, I wash all the clothes, I’m helping her with the research and some of the analyzation part. I wish there will be less of those things to do. I’m not complaining that I’m doing most of the household chores, I’m just concerned about my sister, it seems that she never sleeps. And I can’t sleep when she’s not asleep. I don’t know why, I seem to be watching her all the time.
She’s very stressed with all those assignments and exams, I hope they will just stop and give her a rest. Partly, these pressures are my sister’s fault. She’s been accepting more of those part-time jobs recently and she don’t have time for herself anymore. I’m telling her to stop but she won’t rest a bit. Everytime I see her, she looks so tired and pale.
So, I’m giving myself a misison to help my sister and let her rest so that I could sleep early and avoid sleeping at work. Uh-oh, did I say sleeping at work? (Now I’m in trouble.) I just hope my boss doesn’t read this. But if you’re reading at this moment, I would like you to know that I am sleeping during break time or lunch time only (defensive, eh?)

I’ve been tagged and I’ve been tagged twice.
Anyway, by doing this, I can tell you some things about me and you’ll get to know me better. Let’s start with the rules:
* You share 8 things that your readers don’t know about you then at the end, tag 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going. Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* At the end of the post, a blogger needs to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Okay, so here they are:
1. I don’t like sweets, that’s why I’m not very fond of chocolates.
2. My iPod which was given to me by my client contains only contemporary Christian songs
3. When I was in high school, my teachers used to think that I am weird and they used to call me a nerd. Maybe because I would rather watch and observe what my classmates are doing rather than participate.
4. I can talk from dusk till dawn as long as somebody is interested to listen to me and is willing to tell me some of his/her stories too.
5. When I was in my puberty stage, I was the black sheep of the family. I used to pick a fight with my mother and there was some time when she can’t take it anymore that she ran out of the house crying and she didn’t come home until my father begged her. My, I am not so proud of that…
6. I love watching animes and I am starting to have my DVD collections of all the animes I know
7. When I was young, I dreamed to be a lawyer, doctor, police woman, psychologist, detective and a very rich business woman. Maybe I was confused on what I really wanted to be when I grow up that I ended up taking Commerce.
8. I am very hard-headed but kind-hearted.
Most of the people I know have been tagged already so I am tagging Rachel, Mariecon, Nick, RJ, Yatot, Justin, Ace and Julia.

Finally.. I’m slowly getting over somebody who used to occupy my mind for several months now. Few weeks ago, I find it hard to convince my self that I should not bother myself about this person anymore. I thought I will never overcome the feelings that overwhelmed me since the beginning of the year. Once again, I was wrong. It’s finally wearing off.
Well… For everyone including myself, this is good news. I will not worry about it anymore. God only knows what will happen next. I’m just thankful that He has kept me whole and He always makes me happy. There will always be hope for everything but the best thing I can do is to lay everything before Him.

If somebody will ask me to choose between high school and college as the most unforgettable part of a student’s life, I will choose college. Why? Because I’ve done more silly things than I did in highschool.
My highschool life was boring, I never got to learn how to drink, I never cut classes and I was always present even if there’s a signal-number-2-storm coming. While I learned a lot of not-to-do-things-while-studying in college. Even my best buds now are my classmates in college.
I learned to drink alcoholic drinks in college. As a matter of fact, there were times when we attend classes and we’re drunk. We just stare absent-mindedly at the teacher not understanding a word he’s saying. We were clueless to the day’s lessons and worse we’re late and don’t have assignments.
Sometimes we would skip classes and go to the mall, watch a movie or sing in a videoke bar. No wonder we had low grades. But who cares? We passed anyway. Hahahahaha!!
I also went to lots of places when I was in college. My friends and I often went to Guimaras and spend our weekend in the beach. Come Monday and our brains are empty but we’re happy, we had lots of fun!
Some other stuffs I learned in college:
* I learned to climb closed gates when we stayed so late in the internet cafe doing some projects(?)
* I learned to sleep in other people’s boarding house even if I have mine
* I learned that group study is more enjoyable than studying alone because you’ll have people to talk to
* I learned that gossips are more interesting than discussing lessons
* I learned that big screens can hold more attention than blackboards
* I learned to sleep while pretending to be reading
* I learned that reporting is quite easy when you are tipsy
However, I won’t recommend this to students. I’m just thankful that I’ve been through this, that I get to experience how to be hard-headed and different.
